Before show prep!

Grooming

Regular brushing will help your cat shed its summer and winter coats and reduce daytime hair.

Give your cat a thorough grooming a few days prior to the show; different breeds require different grooming techniques; if you’re unsure about how to best take care of your cat’s coat, please ask.)

Make sure your cat’s nose, ears, and eyes are all clean before wiping its bottom.

Kindly trim your cat’s nails on all four paws the night before the show.

Verify that your cat is flea-free.

Give the cat a once-over the morning of the performance, making sure to check and wipe its eyes.

Your Cat

Kindly bring your cat in an appropriate carry cage (such as the one you use for veterinarian visits). Bring the certificate of vaccination as well.

During your visit, the cat will be placed in a show cage, so it will require a cushion, bed, blanket, or towel to sit on.

In addition, a tiny litter box should it need to go toilet during the day. The litter will be provided by ACC.

Because the cages have wired sides, you may want to add curtains and perhaps even a cherished toy to your cage to make your cat feel more safe and comfortable.

In case your cat gets hungry, you should ideally put some small treats or cat biscuits in the cage AFTER it has been judged. You might also want to bring some water and a small container for it to drink.

And you

While your cat is being judged, you can sit back and observe. This is a great opportunity to learn more about this fascinating hobby.

If you get hungry and need something to eat, there will be food and drink available at the venue. Please bring cash for the raffles and food.

It is appreciated if you turn your cellphone to silent while inside the venue, as loud noises frequently annoy or distract the cats.
