The Auckland Cat Club Incorporated is an all breeds club and an affiliated member of the New Zealand Cat Fancy.
We abide by the rules of the New Zealand Cat Fancy and by our Constitution. The club had its origins in the NZ Pekinese and Persian Cat Club which was formed in 1932. The official Auckland Cat Club was incorporated in 1949 and has operated continuously ever since. Therefore we are one of the oldest cat clubs in the country.
Our purposes are:- – To promote, foster, encourage and assist in every way the breeding of all breeds of pedigree cats registered with the New Zealand Cat Fancy. – To hold shows for pedigree long and short hair cats, together with domestic and companion cats. Our shows are twice a year, usually in April and August. – We also wish to encourage the responsible care of all domestic cats.
We welcome all cat lovers to be members of our Club, whether they be breeders, prospective breeders, pet owners or just people with an interest in cats. We have always encouraged domestic cat owners to exhibit their cats in our shows.
Our Annual General Meeting is held in April when our Committee is elected.
We would love to see more members at our Committee meetings which are currently held at 7.15 pm on the first Thursday of each month, February to December, at Macdonalds, Green Lane.
